This was for a beach birthday party.I used graham crackers for the sand and piping gel and blue coloring for the water. The decorations were made out of fondant. The cake was marbled with vanilla butter cream.
Spooky Skull Cake....vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream!!!
Well here it is my daughter Zoe's 5th birthday cake. This cake was huge and heavy. It turned out great though and she adored it as well as all the other party goers. The theme of the party was a rock star party. now for more on the cake itself. The bottom layer was rice krispy treats so the foundation would be nice and strong. The zebra print layer was vanilla, the blue layer was red velvet with cream cheese icing under the fondant, and the top layer was chocolate. All of the cake except the red velvet was covered in a layer of butter cream frosting and then fondant. I also attempted for the first time ever the topsy turvy look and it didn't turn out that bad at all. I over all was pretty happy with the way the cake turned out. A few little issues that I of course noticed but no one else did.

So super excited about this cake it was one of my best so far. It was a luau themed party so as you can see that is what I went with. I used graham crackers for the sand, pirrouette cookies for the fence, rolled fondant to make the stones, and used piping gel to make the water more realistic. It was definitely a fun cake to make and the young ladies I made it for absolutely loved it.
